Solomon’s Porch Christian Community is a reformed church, meaning that we agree and align ourselves doctrinally with the best confessions of the reformation era. We believe that the Westminster Confession of Faith 1648 , the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith 1689 , and the Belgic Confession 1618 are the best examples of Christian doctrinal standards from the reformation era. Therefore both teaching and ruling elders at Solomon’s Porch use one of those three confessions as the basis for their ministerial vows.
At Solomon’s Porch however, one may be a communing member and not subscribe to the tenets of the reformation era Church. We do ask that our members provide a credible profession of faith, and further, be able to affirm the Nicene Creed as a summation of the essential truths of the Christian Faith before they are admitted to membership and pastoral care.
We also believe that it is necessary for the church to give a further testimony in regards to biblical marriage and sexual ethics. Therefore Solomon’s Porch has chosen to adopt as an addendum to our Constitution the recently formulated Nashville Statement.
